Suspect identified after 2 loss prevention workers stabbed outside Trussville Belk

TRUSSVILLE, AL (WBRC) - Two loss prevention workers were stabbed at the Pinnacle Shopping Center in Trussville Monday afternoon.

The incident happened around 2:20 p.m.

Authorities say the two workers approached a suspected shoplifter, identified by police as 55-year-old Robert Anthony Frye. Police say that’s when Frye used some kind of sharp object to cut and stab them.

The victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Police say after stabbing the two, Frye fled into woods near the end of the parking lot at the store. Officers and a K-9 unit searched for the suspect and found him in the wooded area along Interstate 59 northbound around mile marker 138.

According to Trussville Police, robbery and attempted murder charges are pending for the suspect.
