Crossfit workouts for fallen BPD officer

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Remembering and honoring the life of Sgt. Wytasha Carter continues this morning, with a workout fit for a HERO. Crossfit Eleven, in Argo, is one of the different locations of Crossfit dedicating a workout to Carter, whose life was taken a few days ago, as he and his partner with the Birmingham Police Department were shot while responding to a call of car break-ins along 5th Avenue North.

When Carter and his partner approached two suspects in downtown Birmingham, Police Chief Patrick Smith says one of the suspects began shooting. In all three people were shot, Sgt. Carter, his partner and one of the suspects. Sgt. Carter succumbed to his wounds. His partner remains in critical condition.

The HERO workout is this.

5:15 a.m., 8 a.m., 3:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m., and 6:15 p.m.

The workout is as follows:

“CARTER” EOW 1-13-19

For 20 minutes, completes as may repetitions and rounds as possible of:

  • 1-Rope Climb (15’)
  • 13-Toes to Bar
  • 20- Alternating Dumbbell Snatch (50/35)
  • 19- Push Ups w/ Release

The workout can be scaled (modified) as needed based on experience and ability level. Coaching staff will be on hand for guidance, questions, and explanations of movements.
