BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The rain holds off tonight with overnight lows in the upper 30s.
Saturday morning starts off mostly dry and there is only a slight chance for showers. During the afternoon and evening hours rain moves in from west to east and it could be heavy at times. If you have evening plans, expect rain and to have an umbrella with you. Luckily the instability will be low and temperatures will only get to the lower 50s that we aren’t concerned about storms.
Rainfall Totals: Models are showing around 0.30-0.60 inches of rain across Central Alabama through Sunday morning. Flooding is not expected with this system but localized ponding is.
Sunday: Most of Sunday is looking dry and mostly cloudy. It will be chilly once again with highs only climbing into the lower 50s. Rain chance around 20 percent mainly during the morning hours.
Next Week: The first half of next week is looking dry and cool. We’ll see plenty of sunshine return Tuesday with highs in the low to mid-50s. Overnight lows likely dipping down into the 30s. Our next rain chance will likely occur for the second half of the week (Thursday through Saturday). It appears that we are on a 7-day cycle for more substantial rainfall. If you miss milder temperatures well they return at the end of next week too. Make sure you download our WBRC First Alert Weather app to receive weather notifications from us over the weekend.
