Grits and Gouda: Swamp Soup


1 (28-oz) can seasoned turnip greens

1 (16-oz) can Great Northern or Navy beans

1 (10-oz) can Rotel tomatoes and green chiles (I used mild but hot would be yummy)

1 cup chopped ham (leftovers or you can buy a package of already diced ham)


Combine all 4 ingredients in a large saucepan or small soup pot. Cover and bring to a boil over medium heat. It will look thick but creates more liquid as it is heated. It's basically ready at this point.

Note: This is a perfect recipe for the slow cooker. Just dump all the ingredients in the slow cooker and place on low or high until hot.
