TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - All four teams in the College Football Playoff are also competing in the College Football Giving Challenge.

It’s a way to see which school’s fan base will donate the most money. This is the fourth year of the challenge. And it starts today.

The challenge is based on participation. And every donation can make a difference.

Donations designated to Alabama will go towards the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund. Money from that fund helps not just football players, but all 650 athletes from 21 sports at the University.

Alabama Athletic Director Greg Byrne explained why this is so important. “It’s a great cause for our fans to get behind. And whenever we’re competing at on any level against whoever on a national standpoint we want to win,” Byrne said.

The competition ends on Saturday. If you’d like to contribute, you can go online to CrimsonTideFoundation.org. Alabama won the competition last year.
