Birmingham police officer hit while working wreck Friday morning

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Birmingham police officer was hit by a car while working a wreck on I-59 Northbound near Roebuck Parkway Friday morning.
Sgt. Johnny Williams says the officer went to UAB Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver who hit the officer stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Birmingham police worked several accidents Friday morning due to ice on elevated roads and bridges.
