JASPER, AL (WBRC) - The Jasper High School defense executed a goal-line stand with four minutes to go to keep the Vikings out front by seven on its way to a 34-20 victory over the Sylacauga Aggies in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
“This was a gutsy win for us,” said Jasper head coach Bryan Moore. “We did not play our best game, however we made plays when we needed too.”
Vikings quarterback Michael Crear threw two touchdowns and rushed for another in the win.
It was Jasper’s 10th consecutive win as the Vikings improved to 10-1. Jasper will next host Southside Gadsden in the second round. Sylacauga’s season ends at 7-4.
