Woman killed on Highway 280 Tuesday morning

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The Shelby County Coroner’s office confirms a pedestrian was hit and killed on Highway 280 in front of Best Buy Tuesday morning.
Lina Evans with the coroner’s office says she can’t release 41-year-old woman’s at this time because her family hasn’t been notified yet.
Birmingham police worked the accident and are still investigating.
Investigators say that the woman was struck around 1:10 a.m. near Cahaba Park Circle by a vehicle that ended up off of the road.
The driver is cooperating with authorities.
