HOUSTON, TX (WBRC) - UAB is leaving Texas with another win.

The Blazers started quickly and never let up against Rice, winning the road game 42-0 to improve to 5-1 on the year.

Quarterback A.J. Erdely led the Blazers offense, throwing for 274 yards and two touchdowns on 11 of 17 passing. He added 29 rushing yards and a score.

Erdely’s favorite target was Xavier Ubosi, who had four receptions for 196 yards and two touchdowns.

UAB used a stable of runners, with Lucious Stanley leading the way with 70 yards on nine carries. Jarrion Street rushed for 37 yards and a score and Spencer Brown had 36 yards and a touchdown.

UAB returns home Saturday and faces North Texas at 6:30.
