UA unveils new business school building

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - The University of Alabama’s business school unveiled plans for a new building thanks to a generous donation from a couple alumni.
Plans for Hewson Hall were unveiled by after a $15 million donation by Marillyn and James Hewson.
Hewson Hall will be constructed next to Alston Hall. The 108,000 sq. ft. building will include 22 classrooms, 50 team rooms, a student success center, conference rooms and other amenities.
This announcement comes as the Culverhouse School of business is set to celebrate its Centennial in 2019.
“This building helps to give us the kind of learning platform and the space that students in today’s world need to study,” said Dean Dr. Kay Palan.
A campaign to raise an additional $15 million was announced too. Birmingham businessman C.T. Fitzpatrick will lead the effort. The project is expected to cost $60 million.
