BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A new park for Pratt City has been delayed for seven years. The Birmingham City Council took a step Tuesday and to move the project forward.
The council approved setting aside $6.4 million for the project. A groundbreaking was held last year but nothing happened. Birmingham City Councilman John Hilliard said consultant fees have eaten away at the money for the plans of One Pratt, a joint effort between the city and the community.
The original plan called for a park, amphitheater, play area and waking trails. Hillary expects construction to state within 30-60 days.
