Teenager arrested for Sept. homicide in west B’ham

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -Birmingham police have arrested a suspect in connection to a September homicide.
Police say 18-year-old Terry Lee Skanes, of Birmingham, has been charged with capital murder and attempted murder. The homicide happened on September 8 in the 2400 block of Steiner Court Southwest.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Marquez Jaquese Green, 21, of Homewood.

Police say Green and a friend were sitting in a car when someone drove up and started shooting at them.
Green was shot in the back and pronounced dead at UAB Hospital at 12:51 a.m. The friend was shot in the arm.
Police say Skanes was in possession of a stolen vehicle, drugs and a firearm at the time of his arrest.
