TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Like the old Johnny Cash song, the Alabama Blues Project will soon have its own home of the blues - a permanent spot, just around the corner from heartache.
The Tuscaloosa-based Alabama Blues Project has been migrating from one available space to another for the past two decades. The nonprofit organization provides blues music programs for children and adults.
The Tuscaloosa News reports that it has now been offered space in the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center in Tuscaloosa. The arts center is also home to the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra and Tuscaloosa Arts Council.
Organizers of the Blues Project say that being housed at the arts center will allow it to collaborate with other arts organizations and reach more people across the state.
