JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Some part-time and full-time employees at Jackson's Saks Fifth Avenue Service Center may soon be out of a job.

The company's corporate communications manager says the company plans to consolidate some of the positions in an effort to improve the customer experience.

The Jackson facility will remain open and IT, credit and support will continue.

Right now, it's not known exactly how many people will be laid off.

The company says it will offer separation packages to the affected employees and will work with them to explore transfer opportunities.
