BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Expect the clouds to hang tough Friday night across the area with overnight lows in the lower 40s. The weather should be fantastic for the Christmas parades in Cullman and Altoona.
We will likely see some patchy fog develop again after 9 p.m. and linger through early Saturday morning. If you're driving to Atlanta for the SEC Champtionship early Saturday, expect dense fog and low visibility.
Saturday will become partly sunny during the afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Temperatures on Sunday will likely reach near 70 degrees. We will continue with dry weather on Monday. This will be the perfect weekend to do some Christmas decorating.
Big changes are coming for next week including a good chance for rain and a few thunderstorms as well as much colder air. Rain will likely move into the area by Monday night with widespread rain and even a few thunderstorms on Tuesday. It is likely we could see rainfall amounts over two inches in places through early Wednesday morning. While thunderstorms are possible, no severe weather is expected.
A major change in temperatures will take hold by Wednesday afternoon with freezing temperatures Thursday morning. Lows Thursday will fall to around 30 degrees with highs only in the upper 40s. Updates on our WBRC First Alert Weather app.
