Friday features mostly cloudy skies and mild temperatures in the middle 60s. If you are going to a Christmas Parade tonight, be careful on the way home due to fog forming. Don’t forget, the Storm Tracker will be in the parade up in Cullman. The weather looks best for traveling during the day, but not so much at night due to the areas of dense fog developing.
FIRST ALERT for dropping visibility overnight into Saturday morning that will make it difficult for travelers to see very far ahead.
The weather looks great for Christmas Parades on Saturday, though it will be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will be mild again and average in the middle and upper 60s. For those going to the SEC Championship game, expect fog in the morning and a 20 percent shower chance in the afternoon in Atlanta.
Cooler to start on Sunday morning and sunshine returning!
On Monday, we will be tracking a strong cold front that will move in late in the day on Tuesday. Ahead of the front it will be mild and we will see rain and storms likely on Tuesday and exiting on Wednesday. I don’t see enough wind shear or instability for severe storms at this time. The system looks to produce on average about 1 inch of rainfall.
The cold blast arrives on Wednesday and then another surge next Saturday. High temperatures in the 40s will be common and lows in the 20s and 30s. No snow connected with the cold locally.
