BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - FIRST ALERT: We have a Dense Fog Advisory for many of our counties through 8 a.m. After the fog lifts, expect our cloud cover to be slow to clear today. But, with clouds slowly decreasing, expect highs near 63.
If you're going to a high school playoff game, the weather should be clear. There are many Christmas parades both Friday evening and Saturday. Temperatures will remain comfortable will no rain.
Weekend Forecast: Expect sunshine both Saturday and Sunday with temperatures slightly warmer Sunday afternoon. Highs both days will reach the mid 60s. If you're traveling to the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta, you can count on great travel weather.
We'll see one more day of sunshine on Monday with temperatures in the lower 70s. There are major changes coming beginning Tuesday and continuing through the rest of the week.
We will see periods of heavy rainfall and even a few thunderstorms Tuesday ahead of a strong cold front. We not seeing any indications of severe weather with this system, but it will be wet with several inches of rain likely between Tuesday and when the system exists Wednesday morning. Much colder air will follow.
Expect highs on Thursday and Friday in the upper 40s and lower 50s with morning lows around freezing. Next weekend looks very cold. This is a system to watch and we'll keep you updated on WBRC FOX6 News and our First Alert Weather app.
