Man, 57, killed in McDonald Chapel fire

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Authorities have released the name of a man who died in a fire in McDonald Chapel Thursday.

The coroner's office identified the victim as James Hodges, 57.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's office and the Minor Fire Department responded to the fire around 11:30 a.m. in the 800 block of McDonald Chapel Road.

Hodges was found on the floor inside the home. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The State Fire Marshal and Sheriff's detectives are on the way to the scene to conduct the investigation.
