Gadsden man charged in death resulting from July altercation

A 31-year-old Gadsden death is now facing charges in the July death of another man.

Quinton Cordell Baker is charged with one count of felony manslaughter after 51-year-old Andrew Thomes, 51, died following a July 19 altercation with Baker, according to the Gadsden Police Department.

An officer on patrol discovered Thomas, who appeared to be having a seizure, in the 1000 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue after being flagged down by bystanders.

An autopsy revealed that Thomas died from injuries he suffered during the altercation.

Baker was arrested Tuesday, Nov, 28 and was released on a $5,000 bond.
