PLEASANT GROVE, AL (WBRC) - The Jefferson County Coroner has identified the father of four who was killed Tuesday night in a house fire in Pleasant Grove.
Andrew Tyrone Hill, 35, was killed as he was trying to rescue his two daughters from a house fire in the 500 block of 12th Court.
Firefighters were called to the home around 10:30 p.m.
Pleasant Grove's Fire Chief Robert Knight tells WBRC the fire started in the kitchen. Two girls, ages 12 and 14, woke up, saw the fire and went to get their dad.
One girl escaped through a widow, the other through a door. Their dad was not able to get out.
The man's two other children were not at the home.
