JSU prepares for playoff opener

JACKSONVILLE, AL (WBRC) - Jacksonville State University is used to the playoff pressure having advanced to the FCS post-season for five consecutive years.

And yet Jax State has not won a national championship during that time, but this season as the national number three seed, the Gamecocks believe they have the team that can win it all.

"We have experience, we have that senior leadership that a team needs," said JSU head coach John Grass. "Our guys are hungry because we have been close and you can see that as motivation in their eyes during the bi-week practice time."

Jax State heads into the playoffs with a 10-1 record and will play host to Kennesaw State Saturday in the second round.

Kickoff is scheduled for one o'clock at Burgess-Snow Field in Jacksonville.
