Good Day Gardening

Heather Bell with the Birmingham Botanical Gardens joined us with a look at some upcoming events! Louise Wrinkle will debut her book "Listen to the Land: Creating a Southern Woodland Garden" at The Gardens on November 30. It begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and she will give a talk at 6 p.m. The talk is free, and members can reserve books for $35, while Non-Members can reserve books for $40. All proceeds from book sales and the event benefit Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

On December 6, Greg Harber will lead a field trip titled "Owls Among Us: Winged Tigers of the Night!" which will be a cool opportunity to learn how to identify owls and then go into The Gardens at night and put your newfound knowledge to use. American Girl returns with Festival of Trees on December 10 from 2-4 p.m. Students will participate in a short hike, they'll hear a holiday story and enjoy delicious treats while learning how their favorite American Girl characters celebrate the holidays. The Gardens' annual Spencer Lecture will be March 1 with Laura Dowling. Registration for the talk will be open shortly after the new year. And Spring Plant Sale - our largest annual sale - returns to Brookwood on April 12 - 15.
