Feud leads to lockdown at Miles College

FAIRFIELD, AL (WBRC) - In cell phone video making the rounds on social media, a Miles College security guard is seen slamming someone to the ground last week then eventually tasing him.

We're told the incident followed an apparent feud between students with one allegedly threatening to shoot another student. Multiple students told us the campus was on lockdown for a brief period.

Alicia Williams, a Miles College spokesperson, sent us the following statement saying safety on campus is number one priority:

In accordance with The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Miles College does not disclose or discuss publicly student disciplinary actions. Miles College is a zero-tolerance campus for disruptive behavior to include physical assaults on our men and women who are charged with the duty to protect the members of our campus community. Our number one goal is to ensure the protection and safety of our students, faculty, staff and visitors to our campus. We expect all individuals that are tied to this institution to conduct themselves in a manner in accordance with our established rules and policies that ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for all.
