Veterans, active military, family members and the public are invited to the American Village Friday, November 10 for a Governor's Salute to Alabama Veterans.
Governor Ivey will participate in a Service of Recognition and Thanksgiving for WWII veterans and their families in the Colonial Chapel at 10:15 a.m., and will honor ALL veterans and active members of the United States Armed Forces with a Governor's Salute to Alabama Veterans at 11:00 a.m. in front of the National Veterans Shrine.
Special music will be provided by organist Dr. Laurie Middaugh, pianist Mrs. Denise George, vocalist Ms. Mildred Lanier, and the University of Montevallo Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. Joe Ardovino. This is a FREE event, with lunch provided by the American Village and Full Moon Bar-B-Q. Family-friendly activities continue until 4:00 p.m. This day will recognize, honor, and thank Alabama's veterans, active members of the United States Armed Forces, and their families. Our Nation, our State, and the people of Alabama must never forget the service and sacrifices made for our liberty and for our freedoms.
