Missing Bessemer man's body found in lake

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Bessemer police recovered the body of a missing Bessemer man Monday night.

40-year-old Shane Louis Barber was reported missing on Tuesday, October 31. 

He was last seen by a friend on Maxwell Road around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25.

Barber had been dropped off by the friend and was not at the designated pick-up location as planned.

Detectives located the body of a deceased male in B Mountain Lake off of Maxwell Road on Friday, November 3.

With help from Bessemer fire, the body was removed and recovered by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

On Monday, Bessemer latent fingerprint examiners were able to identify the body as that of Barber.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives do not suspect any foul play at this time.
