Search for stolen gun leads to drug bust in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Tuscaloosa authorities searching for a stolen firearm ended up finding much more.

While searching a home in the 10000 block of Watermelon Road officials with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office 
and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office found a marijuana growing operation.

Agents seized 2.5 lbs. marijuana, some cocaine, $7,500 in cash, assorted firearms, more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition and digital scales.

Marco Howard Formby, 47 of Tuscaloosa, is charged with trafficking in marijuana, unlawful possession of cocaine, failure to affix tax stamp, 
unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and receiving stolen property. 

Formby is in Tuscaloosa County Jail with a bond totaling more than a million dollars.
