We're watching for the development of a few strong to severe storms in West Alabama late this afternoon through the early evening. The threat for severe weather is low, but enough to mention. The main threat is small hail and occasionally gusty winds. If you live west of I-65, you will be in the favored area for these storms to develop. Rain chances will remain around 40 percent through the early evening. Expect temperatures later tonight to fall into the mid 60s.
Friday morning should be mainly dry with a 20 percent rain chance developing during the afternoon. Expect highs to reach the mid to upper 70s. A few thunderstorms are possible with the greatest risk north of I-20 and extending northward toward the Tennessee Valley. If you're going to a high school football game, you can expect a few showers and storms during the evening.
Apple Annie Day in Talladega is looking good Friday with cloudy skies and only a small rain chance. Highs will reach the mid 70s.
Weekend Forecast: Saturday looks mostly dry with partly sunny skies. Highs will reach near 80 during the afternoon. Expect partly cloudy skies during the evening with lows around 60. Sunday will be gorgeous with temperatures reaching 80.
The forecast looks mostly sunny on Monday with highs around 79. We will see a small chance for showers on Tuesday evening. A few thunderstorms are possible through Wednesday ahead of a cool front. Temperatures will be a bit cooler on Wednesday afternoon with highs around 70.
