Last Friday, Hoover football coach Josh Niblett, as part of a “Flex Or Flinch” pep rally stripped off his shirt. Since that time the coach has received both praise and criticism.
I talked with Coach Niblett about the incident, and I say it’s time to give the coach a break.
I've known Coach Niblett for years as a man who has helped thousands of young people, whether it’s on the football field or in the classroom. Niblett has “Men Of Will” gatherings each and every week at his Hoover home, he helps players who are less fortunate with food, transportation and equipment, and helps mold young people into successful adults.
Niblett released a statement, which you can read below. And to get my full take on the matter, check out the video above.
Josh Niblett's statement:
I love my family, my school and my community. I would do anything for them - anything except embarrass them or bring about unwarranted attention. My actions at Friday’s pep rally were by no means meant to be disrespectful or tasteless. I am proud to be a Buc. If I offended anyone with my actions, I apologize.
