BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Clouds are increasing this morning and moving in from the west. Many of our western communities are a little warmer than those in east Alabama.

There is a slow moving wet weather system moving in today. We aren't anticipating any severe storms with this system, just hit and miss showers and a few storms.

Expect highs today to top out near 69 degreeswith a 30 to 40 percent chance of showers and winds out of the south at 5 mph.

Tonight should be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers with lows near 60 degrees.

We anticipate a gradual warming trend through the weekend, with highs warming into the upper 70s to low 80s by Sunday into Monday. Overnight lows will likely hover around 60.

Hit and miss showers and storms will likely be with us through Saturday afternoon.

While Sunday will likely be dry, we are expected to hold on to mostly cloudy skies.

Our dry weather continues through the early part of next week.
