TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - A robbery suspect is in critical condition after police say the victim fired back in Tuscaloosa.
Tuscaloosa police responded to a robbery in the 1900 block of 29th Avenue Saturday night where the suspect had been shot.
Investigators say the 34-year-old victim and his brother were in the front yard when several black men with their faces covered came up to them.
The victim told police he ran toward his apartment and then heard gunshots. The victim got a gun from his apartment and
began shooting at the suspects.
During the exchange of gunfire, the victim's vehicle and another vehicle parked next to it were shot.
A short time later the suspect, Tyshaun Johnson, was taken to DCH by a private vehicle with a life threatening gunshot wound.
