Janice talked with April McClung with Emily's Heirloom Poundcakes and Alex Kunzman, Marketing Director of Moss Rock Festival. April shared the story of Emily's Heirloom Poundcakes which began out of a need to raise $14,400 to send their sons as Student Ambassadors to Europe for 20 days and to China for 17 days during the summer of 2014. This cake has always been a favorite amongst all of their friends so unanimously the family decided it would sell heirloom pound cakes to help support this cause. The fundraiser was so successful that it grew into a full time business. At this point, the cake has been shipped all around the country. For more information, visit www.emilysheirloompoundcakes.com. Emily's Heirloom Poundcakes will be a Sweetery feature again this year at the 12th annual Moss Rock Festival. The Sweetery, formerly held in the Town Hall, will be gathering visitors at its new home on Yellow Row for a rich array of baked goodies and confections to sample, purchase, and take home. The 12th annual Moss Rock Festival is an outdoor, eco-creative fall weekend exploring Nature, SmartLIVING, Art + Design & more at The Preserve in Hoover on November 4 & 5.
