PELHAM, AL (WBRC) -

There will be some security changes next week at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre when Florida Georgia Line holds a concert.

Pelham Police Chief Larry Palmer was just as shocked as everyone about the mass murders in Las Vegas. Live Nation is the same music promoter that ran the concert in Las Vegas when the shooting occurred. The company also runs Oak Mountain Amphitheatre.

Chief Palmer reached out to Live Nation to take another look at the security procedures at concerts. "That is something we hoped never happens in the United States, but it's here and we got to deal with it," Palmer said.

Palmer and Live Nation did agree some security procedures did need to be changed after what happened in Las Vegas. The chief won’t talk details, but he says there will be changes.

So when concertgoers arrive next week, they will not see anything out of the ordinary. The old clear bag requirement will still be in place. "Our goal is anyone who comes to an event at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, a Live Nation event, is that they enjoy themselves, have a great experience and are safe," Palmer said.
