HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Two women have been shot to death at two different homes in Huntsville, Alabama, and a man has been arrested in connection with both overnight killings.
Huntsville police say in a news release that authorities called to a mobile home park Monday night found a 77-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the head. She died later at a hospital. Police said prescription drugs had been stolen from her mobile home.
Later, a 59-year-old woman was found dead at a house about half a block away. A man who had been arrested earlier after crashing that woman's stolen car was identified as a suspect in both killings.
Police said 27-year-old Otis Preston Mayes was charged with two counts of capital murder.
The victims' identities have not been released.
