FIRST ALERT: Possible heat wave ahead

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

It looks like a steamy week ahead. Today will be similar to yesterday, with highs topping out in the upper 80s, feels like temps into the 90s and winds out of the south around 5 mph.

Expect lows tonight near 73 and light winds.

Highs in the low 90s are expected Tuesday and Wednesday under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

FIRST ALERT FOR A POSSIBLE HEAT WAVE:  Thursday through Saturday we could experience our hottest temps so far this year...with highs in the mid-to-upper 90s and feels like temps about 100 degrees. If you're going to be outside, please be careful not to overdo it with strenuous activity, take plenty of breaks, and drink lots of fluids.

Sunday will still be hot, with highs near 93 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
