We are in a typical summertime setup with plenty of instability and a hot humid air mass in place. This can produce sudden thunderstorms with accompanying down bursts producing strong thunderstorm winds and torrential downpours. Overall, rainfall totals will be between a tenth and a quarter inch with higher totals in the down pours. Numerous showers and thunderstorms will be prevalent in the afternoon and into the evening with rain ending overnight. It will still be muggy outside the rain areas with highs ranging from 86 to 90 degrees.

The stalled front will weaken as it moves south Sunday and Monday before finally stalling over South Alabama Monday afternoon. Drier, northerly air flows into the region behind the front limiting rain beginning Tuesday and Wednesday. A ridge of high pressure will build strength beginning Wednesday and continuing into Thursday into Friday across the Gulf States. Still a typical summer like weather pattern with hot-humid conditions will continue with isolated thunderstorms still possible Thursday and Friday. Highs continue in the lower 90s and lows in the middle 70s.
