The Georgia Bulldogs kicked things off Tuesday on day two of SEC Media Days at the Wynfrey hotel in Hoover.
Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart enters his second season in Athens looking to build off an 8-5 season and a top-three recruiting class.
"I certainly didn't feel comfortable with our depth last year. We are going to have more depth in every position. No coach will tell you they're happy with it, but I'm pleased with where we are at," Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said. "We were inconsistent at times. We had a true freshman quarterback. and when you have a team of 18 true freshman playing true roles, we were very inconsistent."
The Bulldogs have 17 seniors on the team including running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, who decided to return for their senior season. Smart says Chubb and Michel together on field is not a good idea. "One would have the ball, the other wouldn't and would be doing something out of norm," Smart said.
Smart also commented on Georgia's game this fall against Samford. "I know Chris Hatcher really well. He gave me my first coaching job. Hatcher has already said he will go for it every fourth down...I'm already getting nervous," Smart added.
Georgia vs. Samford will play on September 16th in Athens.
