(RNN) – Cuba Gooding Sr., lead vocalist of the group The Main Ingredient, has died at age 72.

The group’s main hit was Everybody Plays the Fool.

He was found dead in his car on Thursday afternoon, according to a report by KABC in Los Angeles.

He is the father of Cuba Gooding Jr., an Oscar-winning actor.

There is no sign of foul play, officials say, and the cause of death has not yet been determined. The Los Angeles County coroner's office is handling the investigation, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Gooding, a New York native, and his first wife Shirley divorced, but remarried several years later.
