This cautionary tale opens like credits to a movie.
But this script was far too real to Tanya Burke's family
"I lost my daughter Haley Burkes when she was 8 years old to a drunk driver," Burke said in a video produced by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
They were attending the Tuscaloosa Airshow when a man later charged with drunk driving hit the Burke family with his car.
"I don't remember being told that my child didn't make it," Burke explained through tears.
Local and state law enforcement shared the Burke's story with kids at Tuscaloosa's Central High School Thursday.
Brittney McVay hopes her classmates are listening to the message of Underage, Under Arrest.
"It's very important cause you never know when you could lose your life," McVay said.
The Alcohol Beverage Control Board debuted this new video to the students one day before their prom.
Organizers hope the message and the warning behind it hits home.
"We want young people to know that when they abuse alcohol, when they disobey the law, that there are going to be harsh consequences," according to Dean Argo, Director of Governmental Relations and Communications for the Alabama ABC Board.
