MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Saturday was business as usual for Dedric Lawson and the Memphis Tigers as they defeated UAB 62-55 at home.

Lawson was on par with his season averages in recording a 24 point, 10 rebound double-double. He was also a swat machine, totaling an incredible eight blocks, nearly giving him a triple-double.

Brother K.J. just missed a double-double of his own, hauling in 11 boards and scoring 9 points.

Memphis got the most out of its starters—The Lawsons, Markel Crawford and Jeremiah Martin all tallied more than 37 minutes. Chad Rykhoek earned the start but saw just nine minutes as Memphis mostly went with a smaller lineup.

UAB built up a nice lead on the Tigers, leading by nine early in the second half, but Tubby’s team would not be denied.

The Tigers are now 7-2 on the season and a perfect 6-0 at home. They will stay in the Bluff City for their next game, a nighttime tip against Monmouth on Tuesday, before heading to Oklahoma for a big game against the Sooners next weekend.
