Fire destroys church building in Birmingham's Central Park neighborhood

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at Broken Vessel Missionary Church in the Central Park neighborhood early Sunday morning.
A rescue crew was on a medical call before midnight when they saw smoke coming from the church.
The roof collapsed into the church and the building was destroyed.
No one was injured in the fire.
Pastor Donald Moulton said the church family was planning to put up their Christmas tree after Sunday service.
"We're not going to let this stop us," Moulton said. "We're going to find another location and move forward. We'll be having bible study Wednesday as we normally do and church Sunday. And we'll be moving forward in that direction and we'll be praying that god will open up the doors for us to move forward."
The fire remains under investigation, though Captain Bryan Harrell says it appears to be accidental at this point.
