Outstanding citizens of Birmingham recognized at Vulcans Community Awards
BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Outstanding citizens of Birmingham were honored at The Club Thursday night.
The Vulcans Community Awards recipients were chosen by a panel of diverse citizens.
Winners of the Vulcans exemplify civic pride and leadership within the seven-county metro area.
"They have just managed to find the time and the energy and that one thing that they're very passionate about that they dedicate their energies to and they get everybody else excited about it as well," Darlene Negrotto said.
Winners included John Croyle, who established Big Oak Ranch, which helps children in need.
"I tell you what, I read the list of honorees they've got here and I tell you I don't belong here. But they're horses and we are just proud to be a part of it," Croyle said.
Our very own Rick Journey was the master of ceremonies.
