BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Wash your hands
Chances are somebody around you may have the stomach bug.
UAB Pediatrics and Internal Medicine Dr. Stephen Russell says it's the same old virus characterized by vomiting, cramping pain and even diarrhea.
Washing hands is one of the best defenses against getting the stomach bug and spreading it.
"It's important when you have the stomach bug to stay home until you are feeling better. It's also important when you have the stomach bug to make sure you are well-hydrated. It's really easy to get sick and not want to drink as much as you need to," Russell said.
Russell says fall is prime time for the stomach virus.
