ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A tip during a Click It-or-Ticket campaign led deputies in Etowah County to property that had been stolen.
Sheriff Todd Entrekin deputies arrested four people in the case.
"James Wesley Reaves, 44, and Michael Dwayne Simmons, 46, both of Gadsden, are each charged with one count of third degree burglary and one count of first degree theft of property, both are felonies," investigator Brian Smith said in a department issued press release.
Authorities believe Reaves and Simmons broke into a residence on Tidmore Bend Road on May 26 and stole tools, a generator, an air compressor, ammunition for guns, a television, a digital camera, jewelry and two handguns.
Investigator Jeremy Lasseter identified the other two suspects as Sidney Darrell Fitts, 46, of Ashville, and Glenn Alan Godfrey, 49, of Gadsden. Each face a charge f fourth-degree receiving stolen property.
Godfrey is also charged with attempting to elude an officer.
Fitts has already bonded out of the Etowah County Detention Center on $1,000. Authorities are holding Reaves and Simmons on $25,000 bond and Godfrey on $2,000 bond.
