12-year-old dies in tug-of-war

Pell City police say a 12-year-old girl collapsed and died at Williams Intermediate School this afternoon. Chief Greg Turley says it happened while the child was playing a game of tug-of-war. We're working now to find out more.

Teen hides in closet from burglar

A teenage girl hid in a closet while a man burglarized her home near Forestdale. Jefferson County officials just confirmed that this happened yesterday. The teen stayed hidden in a bedroom closet while the suspect searched the house for valuables. We'll tell you what we've learned about the suspect at 5 p.m.
