Mom dies, 3 children shot in Birmingham; News conference at 7:30 a.m.

We are following breaking news out of Birmingham. Police will hold a news conference at 7:30 a.m. on a quadruple shooting. A mother and at least three children were shot on Wednesday night.  Clare Huddleston will have a live report and WBRC FOX6 News will carry the news conference live on Good Day Alabama.

A traffic alert in Tuscaloosa. Terri Brewer will let you know what's going on near McFarland Boulevard at 15th street.

Changes for the Birmingham City Council due to the Mayor-Council Act. It mandates a vote on the leadership position every two years instead of four. After the vote Council President Johnathan Austin remains in his position, but Stephen Hoyt replaces Jay Roberson as President pro tem. Both councilors join us on Good Day Alabama.
