GADSDEN, AL (WBRC) -

A pastor was remembered Friday in his hometown.

William Densmore, the missing Gadsden minister, was found in his wrecked car on April 27.

Friends, family and his parishioners from Lineville remembered Densmore at his funeral on Friday.

One man called him a "Soldier for the Lord," and choked up as he recalled Densmore's dedication.

“And he'd get out of the hospital, Thursday or Friday, and be in the car, driving all the way to Lineville, 70 miles one way, to preach the Gospel, sick," said Densmore’s son-in-law, Bennett Webb.

Many of the stories about Densmore were about his time as pastor of the Eldred Street Church of Christ in Clay County.
