WHERE IS THE LOVE - Mike talked with Dr. Misty Smith, LPC, from Mind, Body, & Heart Wellness Clinic about questions to ask before getting married. She started the conversation last month and today address five more things to consider before walking the aisle:
1- Who are you REALLY marrying?
-do you accept each other for who you really are?
-do you think things will be different once you get married?
-do you know yourself?
-can you be yourself around your fiancé?
2- Spiritual Considerations:
-are they generous, charitable, and humble? are you?
-is forgiveness part of your relationship vocabulary?
-do you have different religious backgrounds?
-do you accept and respect one another's religious beliefs and values regardless of your own?
3- Compatibility Questions that Matter:
-are your objectives in life similar?
-are your self-esteem levels similar?
-are your education levels similar?
-are your family situations similar?
4- Defining Roles To Keep Harmony:
-do you agree on certain male and female roles?
-how will you play?
-how will you clean?
-how will you collaborate?
5-Are you willing to make the marriage work? This is a big responsibility!!!
-will you be friends even when the attraction and "in-love" feeling wanes?
-is divorce an option?
-will you give up easily or will you fight til the end?
-will you be willing to do whatever it takes, including looking at yourself and possibly making changes?

BARGAINOMICS - Judy Bates - the Bargainomics Lady - joined us with some great deals. She showed off her outfit that she found on sale. Her dress was $4 in the markdown room at Better Than Before Consignment in Cullman. The sandals were $3 at Mission Possible Thrift Store. And the $25 necklace was marked down to $6.25 at Belk. And the $12 earrings were $1 on clearance at The Grapevine in Winfield. Total cost for the outfit - $14.25. She also showed us her toeless pantyhose. They're made with a piece of fabric that fits between your toes just like a flip flop. They look much better with opened-toed shoes than regular hose!
Right now Outback Steakhouse is offering a free $10 gift card with every $50 one you buy. Whether you buy one as a Mother's Day gift or for yourself, this is a great little money saver. You can make your purchase online or in the restaurant. Check it out at www.Outback.com.
You can make your own cleaning cloths and keep them handy in your kitchen and bathroom. Use a knife with a big serrated edge to saw a roll of high-quality paper towels into 3 equal sections. Put one section into a big plastic margarine tub or coffee container. Mix ½ cup of your favorite cleaner like Lysol or Pinesol with 4 cups of water and pour it into the container. Cut a slit in the center of the tub lid and insert the end of the towel roll. If you want to get fancy, you can paint the tub so it'll look nice sitting out on the counter. Krylon makes the best spray paint I've found that sticks to plastic.
Get a bargain on an outing for Mother's Day with Groupon's deal on admission to Ave Maria Grotto – also known as "Little Jerusalem" – in Cullman. Choose from 2 or 4 adult tickets or family tickets, with savings of $6 to $13. If you're never visited Ave Maria Grotto, it's really beautiful, with over 125 sculptures of iconic churches, shrines, and buildings along a beautiful wooded 4-acre garden at St. Bernard Abbey – all created by one monk who spent more than 40 years on this project.
Sears has the biggest, baddest jewelry sale I've seen in ages, with as much as 90 percent off many items and free in-store pickup. A couple of examples of in-stock items: $99.99 blue and white topaz earrings are on sale for $21.24 and a $569.99 set of earrings, bracelet, necklace, and ring totals 1 carat and is sale-priced at $142.49.
