GAME OF CROWNS - The #1 New York Times bestselling author of William and Kate and The Day Diana Died takes a compulsively readable look into the relationships and rivalries of Queen Elizabeth, Camilla Parker Bowles, and Kate Middleton. One has been famous longer than anyone on the planet—a wily stateswoman and an enduring symbol of a fading institution. One is the great-granddaughter of a king's mistress and a celebrated home-wrecker who survived a firestorm of scorn to marry her lover and replace her arch rival, a beloved twentieth-century figure. One is a beautiful commoner, the university-educated daughter of a self-made entrepreneur, a fashion idol, and wife and mother to two future kings. Master biographer Christopher Andersen takes readers behind palace walls to examine the surprising similarities and stark differences among three remarkable women in "Game of Crowns."

DAVID BALDACCI - Following Memory Man, #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci returns with one of his newest characters, Detective Amos Decker.  Called a "master craftsman" by the Associated Press and "one of the greatest thriller writers of the last decade" by Strand Magazine, Baldacci is once again at the top of his game in THE LAST MILE, spinning an elaborate tale that demonstrates his breadth and depth as one of the most celebrated writers today. In the second novel in his Amos Decker series, convicted murderer Melvin Mars is counting down the final hours before his execution—for the violent killing of his parents twenty years earlier—when he's granted an unexpected reprieve. Another man has confessed to the crime. In The Last Mile, Amos Decker, newly hired on an FBI special task force, takes an interest in Mars's case after discovering the striking similarities to his own life: Both men were talented football players with promising careers cut short by tragedy. Both men's families were brutally murdered. And in both cases, another suspect came forward, years after the killing, to confess to the crime. A suspect who may or may not have been telling the truth. The confession has the potential to make Melvin Mars—guilty or not—a free man. Who wants Mars out of prison? And why now? But when a member of Decker's team disappears, it becomes clear that something much larger—and more sinister—than just one convicted criminal's life hangs in the balance. Decker will need all of his extraordinary brainpower to stop an innocent man from being executed. David Baldacci is a global #1 bestselling author, and one of the world's favorite storytellers. His works have been adapted for both feature film and television. David Baldacci is also the cofounder, along with his wife, of the Wish You Well Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting literacy efforts across America. OUR HOUSE - Mike talked with Melanie Williamson with the Greater Birmingham Association of Homebuilders about the latest options in countertops. She showed us granite, Silestone quartz, and Dekton. She says granite offers different colors and patterns - no two pieces are alike. It can have a polished or matte finish. It is scratch resistant stain resistant if you seal is regularly, about twice a year. If it gets chipped, it can be repaired. Quartz is the fourth hardest mineral on the planet. Because it is a manmade product, the colors are consistent from one piece to the next. Lighter colors of white, gray, and taupe are the trend these days. It doesn't scratch and you don't have to worry about sealing it. Melanie says it is virtually maintenance free. Dekton is ultra-compact and has zero porosity which means no sealing, no staining, and no scratching. She also says it is strong so you can put it on longer distances with no extra support. It comes in different textures and colors. Melanie says granite and quartz are very similar in price. The Dekton is on the more expensive end of the price range.

YOUTHSERVE PART IN THE TUNNEL - YouthServe prepares for the third annual Party in the Tunnel which will be held on April 30, from 6 – 9 pm in the 19th Street Tunnel Downtown Birmingham.  YouthServe is a local nonprofit focused on empowering youth leadership through community service. Each Spring, YouthServe hosts the only teen-centered event in Birmingham, "Party in the Tunnel," to highlight the accomplishments and service of youth in Birmingham. The inaugural event, held in 2014, was made possible through a partnership between YouthServe and REV Birmingham to commemorate the unveiling of the lighting display in the 19th Street. Party in the Tunnel is an end-of-the-school-year celebration for teens and is free and open to the public. This year's event will include music, food trucks, fire performers and hoopers, drumming circles, and a youth dance troupes. Youth organizations throughout the Birmingham metro area are invited to recognize outstanding participants that participate in their programs. YouthServe will present service awards  to recognize outstanding program participants for their involvement. This is also an opportunity for local organizations to showcase summer programs for teens. The last two years have seen between 400-500 teens from all backgrounds and more than 60 local middle and high schools in attendance. Security is strictly enforced by the Birmingham Police Department. Party in the Tunnel is a free, family-friendly event for the entire community to enjoy. Party in the Tunnel is one creative way that our youth have identified to combat the negative stigma associated with Birmingham as it relates to youth violence and racial tension, showing the world that not only is their generation ready to make a change in their community, but also to hold themselves to a higher standard of social consciousness. LELAND ON CRUZ - Ted Cruz formally announced his Vice Presidential running mate on Wednesday in Indianapolis.  Indiana votes Tuesday in the next GOP contest. Cruz picked Carly Fiorina to be his running mate. Janice talked with political analyst Leland Whaley for his thoughts on why Cruz who is trailing in the fight for delegates would name a VP now. Many speculate it was a last ditch effort to win more votes and keep Donald Trump from picking up enough delegates to win the nomination and keep alive his hopes of a contested republican national convention.
