APRIL 27TH 5TH ANNIVERSARY - Many communities across Alabama were hit hard five years ago with the April 27th tornadoes. Many have been building back for all these years and most still have a ways to go. Sarah took us live to Pell City and we talked with the designer who is helping revamp the community. We talked with Birmingham Mayor William Bell and Phil Campbell Mayor Steve Bell. We looked at improves in Tuscaloosa and other communities across the state.
JEH JEH LIVE - Jeh Jeh joins us from the Zamora Shrine Temple for the Vette Spectacular. The annual Corvette Show is hosted by the Mid Alabama Corvette Club. It is Saturday at Zamora Shrine Temple from 9am until 3pm. It is an indoor/outdoor show and continues rain or shine! Registration begins at 7am. GARDENING - Aldridge Gardens' Executive Director Rip Weaver and Educational Coordinator Audrey Ann Wilson join us to discussed the upcoming Summer Camps and Annual Spring Plant Sale. June will be a full month of excitement, entertainment and, of course, education at Aldridge Gardens. There are plenty of camps to choose from for boys and girls entering Kindergarten through 4th grades. Whether your little campers like American Girl dolls or building and engineering, we've have something they're sure to enjoy! Choose from American Girls, Outdoor Makers, Engineering FUNdamentals, or Construction in Nature. The day camps will run from June 6th through July 1st, 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Monday through Friday. Volunteers and gardeners will be on hand to help with selections and to give advice about placement, care, and maintenance.
MOTHER'S DAY - Janice and Mike talked with Grayson Russell as he celebrates his new film - "Mother's Day." It opens nationwide on Friday. The Clanton native plays a typical, mischievous teenager named Tommy. The film brings together Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts and Jason Sudeikis in a celebration of mothers everywhere through laughter, tears and love.
