TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - An Alberta church is set to break ground on the week of the fifth anniversary of the April 27, 2011 tornado.

Dr. Kelvin Croom, Pastor of College Hill Baptist Church since the late 1990's, is excited to rebuild in the Alberta community.

"It's been five years and it's time to come back home," Dr. Croom said. "We're excited about the opportunity to come back to east Tuscaloosa, and we're very thankful."

Groundbreaking is set for 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 25. City officials will help with the groundbreaking of The Reverend Sylvester Croom Worship Center, named after the founding member, Pastor Sylvester Croom, in 1982. Sylvester passed away in 2000. Pastor Kelvin Croom is his son.

You can help donate to this new church and place your name on a brick to be placed in front of the new College Hill Baptist Church here.
